First off, we found a bug that we had suspected for quite a while. The "Top Bands" was not getting calculated correctly. The bug has since been fixed, so be sure to check there now to see if you are moving up in the rankings. (It's calculated once a day)
Also we finally tracked down the reason people were getting e-mails saying that a comment had been posted, even though no comment had been posted.
Second, we just re-released the home page promos option. (Check for it under the artists admin section.) Home page promos let your band be seen on the Stage.fm home page.

as a musician who classifies my music as electronic, i was disappointed to see you eliminated the electronic link from the front page of stage.fm
generes like emo are listed twice, which doesn't seem to make much sense. additionally, if i add other generes to my songs aside from electornic they disappear completely from the charts. is there anything to be done about this? Thanks...

Hey, I think there's another bug with the encoding of new songs as of late. I've tried to upload songs and it says they are in line to be encoded, but it never actually progresses from that. Is it something on my end, or is something not doing correctly? I sent an email about it but haven't heard, so I figured I'd try here. I don't have any other hosting!
It appears as if the music player just hangs when a song is selected. Also, when you download a song it just downloads a 200+ Kb junk file. Hope this gets fixed soon.
I'm having the same problem as Pete when I tried to upload a song "In line to be encoded" but never gets encoded even after 2 days. Other than that, I've been really happy with the entire service we are able to receive for free.
Is this site dead, or are you guys still trying to fix the issues with bugs and such? I uploaded a bunch of songs today, but I somehow doubt they will ever be encoded due to the other postings on this board. Ryan, please let us know with another blog entry if you get a chance.
Something is wrong for newly uploaded songs. I gave up after a week of waiting for the first upload to encode, and deleted the song.
Last night I tried with another track, and its still stuck waiting to be encoded.
The big issue is that it won't become available until this clears. Ugh!

We are also having major issues with uploading music! No matter what we do, it says it's inline to be encoded. We are getting absolutely frustrated, as Stage.fm is the only site that we are on that allows people to leave comments without being members. It is also the only site we're on that is easy for our Blind and Visually impaired fans and friends to navigate. We've emailed and emailed to no avail. Should we give up and delete our account? Or, will we get some kind of help somewhere? We appreciate this service, and the fact that it is free, but if we may be able to suggest much improved customer and technical support please! We also understand that bugs are always a part of websites, but it seems that the staff ignores requests for help. That is sad!
